Before you transformed my teeth I was embarrassed to bare them in a photo. Now I look forward to smiling my way around the USA on holiday. Thank you so much for giving me back my smile.

Keeping your mouth spotlessly clean and your gums healthy is what our superb hygienists do best. After a session with Lara Paton or Anna Vaughan your mouth will have never felt so clean. Bacterial plaque that builds up between visits will be removed, ridding you of the substance that contributes to gum disease, decay and bad breath. They will teach you how to improve your oral health routine at home, show you how to use the right interdental products for your mouth and recommend the right products to purchase from our practice store.

Our experienced dental nurses play an important role at our Leicestershire dental practices and are responsible for maintaining strict cross-infection controls to ensure patients and the clinical team are suitably protected. They are very knowledgeable and have a gift for putting patients at ease - and their support to the dental team to create a comfortable experience, makes them invaluable. We have four dental nurses: Kim Dorman, Abbie Corry, Corinne Toseland and Kayleigh Dolby.

Few people can honestly say they thoroughly enjoy their job and have fun with their colleagues but here at Kibworth and Uppingham Dental Practices we really can. Patients always comment on the jolly atmosphere at our practices, which they say helps put them immediately at ease. Our two managers Ingrid Thorpe and Susan O'Driscoll ensure everything runs smoothly and patients are sure of a warm welcome.

As well as offering all the treatments you would expect we take extra care to ensure your mouth, teeth and gums are in the best health possible. Your teeth should last for life and people with healthy mouths look more attractive, smile with confidence, have fresher breath and enjoy good general health and wellbeing. The health and safety of our patients is our number one priority. We adhere to a strict code of practice as stipulated by the British Dental Association in regards to patient care, radiation, cross infection control and sterilisation. For this reason we are an amalgam-free (mercury) practice and only offer white fillings. Our dentists also adhere to the GDC’s standards of dental care. In the UK mouth cancer is diagnosed in around 5,000 people each year. Early detection and treatment considerably increases survival chances and because of this, regular dental visits are highly recommended. By making sure you visit us regularly any changes in your mouth can be identified during our comprehensive 13-point dental health check. Our 13-point Dental Health 1Check your medical details. Many medical conditions and medications can have significant effects on your oral health. 2Enquire if you have had any problems with your teeth since your last visit. You know what is ‘normal’ in your mouth – let us know if something doesn’t feel right and we can examine it further. 3Check each of your teeth and their individual health and condition. A healthy mouth is linked to good general health and costs less to look after. 4Make sure there is no plaque on your teeth. Hard plaque can build up between visits and bacterial plaque is the number one cause of tooth decay, gum disease and tooth loss. 5Examine the health of your gums. Research shows gum disease may be a risk factor for heart disease. A healthy mouth is a sign of a healthy body. 6Ensure the areas underneath, between and inside your teeth are healthy by taking regular X-rays. X-rays can detect root canal infections and other underlying problems and are an essential part of a dentist’s armoury in the diagnosis and treatment of disease at an early stage. 7Ensure your crowns, bridges and fillings are healthy and stable. 8Make sure your bite is comfortable, healthy and stable. 9Sensitive teeth check. Many patients suffer from sensitive teeth but this complaint should never be ignored as it can be an early warning sign of more serious dental problems. 10Examine the health of your bones and jaw joint. We check your jaw is properly aligned and check for any early signs of serious illness. 11Check that your tongue, lips, cheeks, skin and glands are healthy. 12Do you want to upgrade your smile? Tell us if you would like to improve your appearance and we can offer expert advice on cosmetic treatments. 13Check your overall progress towards a completely healthy mouth – remember healthy mouths keep teeth for life!
Prevention is the best approach to avoiding tooth loss or the need for fillings and since three out of four teeth are lost through gum disease, it's clear why we put such emphasis on the early identification and cure of any gum disorder. Bacterial plaque contributes to decay, gum disease and bad breath, which is why our hygienists focus on removing the hard plaque that can build up between visits keeping you and your mouth healthy, looking good and smelling fresh.
While your teeth are the stars of the show, their success is entirely reliant on a supporting cast of gums. You really do have quite a bit to lose if you don’t look after your gums and that’s why we passionately advocate a preventive approach. Screening for gum disease forms an integral part of your examination and a primary focus of our hygienists, Lara and Anna.
Your smile is one of the first things people notice – make sure you love yours with life-changing treatments from Visage Facial & Dental Cosmetic Clinic, part of the Kibworth and Uppingham Dental Practice Group in Leicestershire.
Patients who have whitening treatment say they feel more confident, so if you have ever felt self-conscious about the colour of your teeth, or simply fancy a brighter smile, consider whitening. We offer three types of tooth whitening to suit your lifestyle and budget. Tray whitening is an effective, relatively speedy yet simple treatment carried out in the comfort of your own home. Zoom 2 gives stunning results in just one hour and is carried out in surgery, as is our Deep Power Whitening method, which is guaranteed to give you a dazzling smile.
Unsightly silver fillings, gaps, and cracked and crooked teeth can be corrected with the marvels of modern cosmetic dentistry. Our Leicestershire dentists use the latest techniques and materials - white fillings, porcelain veneers, crowns and bridges - to provide patients with the natural-looking, complete smile they have always dreamed of.
A dental implant is ideal for patients who want a permanent solution to a missing tooth or teeth. An implant is an artificial tooth, which looks, feels and works like the real thing. An artificial root made from titanium replaces the root of a missing tooth. Implants can also save healthy teeth by eliminating the need to grind down healthy tooth tissue, required by traditional bridgework, and can improve your appearance and smile because when teeth are lost the jawbone shrinks, causing signs of ageing.
It is never too late to straighten crooked teeth – and with the amazing progress made in this field of dentistry only you need know you are wearing a brace. Invisalign, a virtually invisible custom-fit aligner that fits over your teeth, eliminates the need for traditional wires and brackets so your teeth become straighter without anyone even noticing. With Invisalign, patients are able to remove their aligners to eat, brush and floss, and teeth are moved little by little. Treatment is often completed within 12 months. We may refer to them kindly as laughter lines but very often the lines around our eyes and forehead give us little to smile about. As we get older, the lines caused by our facial expressions every time we smile, laugh or frown, become more prominent and more fixed. Confidence comes from knowing you look fantastic - let the Visage team give you a more youthful appearance.
The extensive training our Leicestershire dentists undertake equips them with an understanding of the structure and function of facial nerves and muscles. Our dentists are perfectly placed to offer the right advice on how best to reduce crow’s feet and frown lines, and to carry out a range of non-surgical cosmetic treatments to achieve the best results.
Visage is our dedicated facial and dental cosmetic clinic, which is part of the Kibworth and Uppingham Dental Practice Group. Our patients can reverse the ageing process with effective and affordable non-surgical treatments to give them fewer wrinkles, plumper lips and younger-looking skin. We offer patients a free consultation to discuss all aspects of our beauty treatments that will leave you radiating confidence and looking years younger.
Facial muscle relaxants are the ideal solution for people who would like to turn back the clock and reduce the appearance of wrinkles and facial lines. At Visage Facial & Dental Cosmetic Clinic our clinicians have many years’ experience carrying out this simple procedure which takes between 10 and 15 minutes and lasts for three to four months – longer the more treatments you have. Facial muscle relaxants are highly refined, purified substances that are injected with a tiny needle into a specific facial muscle and can reduce frown lines, forehead furrows and crow’s feet.
As the skin ages it loses its elasticity and creases appear. To help reduce the tell-tale signs of ageing we use a special dermal filler gel to smooth away deeper wrinkles, frown and smile lines to make you look younger and more fresh-faced. Treatment takes between 10 and 30 minutes and can last up to nine months.
For patients who would like to plump out laughter lines around the mouth or create a more sensuous pout we offer a non-surgical treatment called Restylane® - which can give instant results within just 30 minutes. A gel is injected into the lips or around the mouth and the effect lasts between six to nine months.
